PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring hear moisture for easily and accurately performing nondestructive measurement without being influenced by an external fluctuation factor. SOLUTION: A plurality of spectral data is obtained by irradiating a plurality of standard hair samples of which moisture is known and measured by a gravimetric method with near-infrared light so as to prepare a standard curve of moisture of the standard hair samples. At this time, the plurality of spectral data is subjected to differentiation with a predetermined order and MSC as pre-processing before obtaining corrected spectral data. The corrected spectral data and the moisture data obtained by the gravimetric method are subjected to statistical processing utilizing a partial least square regression method so as to prepare the standard curve. Subsequently, spectral data of subject hair is obtained by directly irradiating the subject hair with near-infrared light, and moisture of the subject hair is measured using the standard curve.
