PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make ejection rate, ejection quantity and stability proper by controlling the driving of a recording head while detecting or recognizing the difference in the design value of each nozzle array or the variation in manufacture. SOLUTION: Driving signal supplying means are provided for respective nozzle arrays and the driving pulse is controlled depending on the size and position of the ink supply opening of each nozzle array and the wiring resistance thereof. Variation in manufacture is also detected depending on the nozzle array and the driving pulse is controlled depending on the output therefrom. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
