A method for applying guide blocks to opening windows in a vehicle uses slotted plastic blocks with a fabric insert layer in the slot, covering the inside walls and base of the slot. The fabric is bonded into the slot during the moulding of the plastic block. The fabric provides a secure hold for adhesive with which the block is secured to the glass, and holds the glass while the adhesive sets.
