<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems to generate echo data of the same degree from a tumor as a substantial organ in ultrasonic images and to distinguish the tumor from the organ in the ultrasonic images. <P>SOLUTION: A statistic arithmetic unit 50 sets a kernel including object echo data, and decides a mean value M and a standard deviation S for a plurality of echo data in the kernel. A multiplication coefficient selector 54 selects a multiplication coefficient in response to a combination of M and S, and a multiplier 56 multiplies the multiplication coefficient selected at each object echo data by each object echo data, generates conversion echo data, and outputs the echo data.
