PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for expanding a tube by which it becomes possible to expand a tube while keeping a constant tube expanding rate without being affected by fluctuation even though there is the fluctuation of the gaps between a heat transferring tube and a tube opening. SOLUTION: In fixing the heat transferring tube to the tube opening of a tube plate by using a tube expanding operation, the tube is expanded such that obtained integrated values become constant integrating a motor load current of an expander rotating device and the deforming quantity of the heat transferring tube through the time S2 from the time when the heat transferring tube comes into close contact with the inner surface of the tube opening to the completion of the tube expanding.
