PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated ultra-high hardness sintered body tool which is excellent in both the wear resistance and chipping resistance of its blade comprising an ultra-high hardness sintered body and also has vastly improved cutting durability for maintaining high efficiency, longer life and high accuracy in cutting work. SOLUTION: In the tool, the surface of its blade comprising the ultra-high hardness sintered body is coated with a (Cr<SB>a</SB>Si<SB>1-a</SB>) (N<SB>x</SB>B<SB>1-x</SB>) film having an excellent sliding property with a work material. Additionally a layer composed of Ti and Al nitrides, etc., is laid between the (Cr<SB>a</SB>Si<SB>1-a</SB>) (N<SB>x</SB>B<SB>1-x</SB>) film and the ultra-high hardness sintered body to furthermore enhance the adhesiveness of the film.
