PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defoaming material for reducing or eliminating foam on the surface of liquid without generating a functional trouble due to the dissolution or dispersion in the liquid as a defoaming agent, a defoaming method using the same and a liquid container. SOLUTION: The defoaming material is solid one having a structure floating on liquid surface and at least a part of the surface of the material is constituted of a material having a critical surface tension of 30 mN/m or less.
