<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for removing the coat of a coated optical fiber ribbon 1 that comprises the pressure groove-forming means which comprises a pair (upper and under) of function boards 3 having curved surfaces at their front ends, the coat-gripping means which grips the coat part on a terminal side with a pair (upper and under) of coat-gripping boards 4, and the pulling means for pulling out the coat part; and also a method for removing the coat by the use of the above device. SOLUTION: It is possible to remove the coat without any damage to the coated optical fiber ribbon 1, since the pressure groove is formed by the function boards 3 which have the curved surfaces at their front ends.</p> |
