<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform positive engagement with a sheet piece while allowing the smooth passing of the sheet piece regarding a rolled wet towel forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A moving belt is wound between rollers, and a fixed belt 24 are fixed at both ends to the machine frame side, while an intermediate part extending from an upper linear part to a lower linear part via a circulating part of the rollers is free (unfixed) An engaging claw 25 is integrally provided at the fixed belt 24, in proximity to the upstream end of a roll winding passage. The engaging claw 25 is inclined backward to the moving direction of the moving belt 20, and its tip extends to a longitudinal groove 20A on the surface of the moving belt 20. A receiving plate 68 is provided on the back face side of the moving belt 20.
