PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool which corrects the thermal displacement of a tool bearing body caused by the heat generation of a rotation transmitting mechanism of a rotary tool, improves the finishing accuracy thereof, and dispenses with a temperature sensor. SOLUTION: The machine tool is formed of a work bearing body 42, the tool bearing body 41 which has the built-in rotary tool 2 and the rotation transmitting mechanism 8 built therein, and a bearing body moving means 43 for moving the tool bearing body 41. The machine tool is comprised of a temperature information acquiring means 65 for acquiring information on the temperature of the tool bearing body 41 or a value proportional to the temperature, and a machining control means 61 having a function of correcting the movement of the bearing body moving means 43 based on the temperature information acquired by the temperature information acquiring means 65. The temperature information acquiring means 65 includes a use frequency information acquiring means 66 for acquiring the use frequency information of the rotation transmitting mechanism 8, and a tool bearing body temperature operating means 67 for carrying out the arithmetic operation of the temperature information based on the use frequency information.
