PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a magnetic recording medium such as a magnetic tape which guarantees good recording/regenerating properties by uniformly coating a magnetic coating material to a base material. SOLUTION: This die head device for a coater is equipped with a coating material reservoir 23 to which the coating material is supplied and die heads 22 with a slit 24 for discharging the coating material to be supplied from the coating material reservoir 23 onto a continuously traveling base material. Flow regulating circulation parts 28 and 29 communicating in series with the coating material reservoir 23 are provided on both sides of the mutually opposed die heads 22 and the coating material is supplied to the coating material reservoir 23 through the parts 28 and 29.
