1297875 Drilling devices SOC DES AUTOMOBILES SIMCA 28 Jan 1970 [30 Jan 1969] 4185/70 Heading B3C A drilling device comprises a hollow body 1 having a bearing 8 which slidingly receives a sleeve 9 in which are slidingly mounted drive members 10, 11, member 10 being drivingly connected to a drive pin 13 of a drilling head 2 connected to one end of the body and to the sleeve by a pin 14 and member 11 being drivingly connected to a chuck 23 for a drill 24, guide means for the drill connected to the other end of the body, and between the drive members a spring 21. The two drive members are drivingly connected by engagement between flat surfaces 17a, 18a and the ends of the rim 14 engage in longitudinal slots 15a, 15b in the sleeve 9. End 27 of the hollow body receives a ring 28 with an interposed washer 29. A slide 31 is located in the ring and carries a centering bush 32 which is spring biased. End 34 of bush 32 engages a guide bushing 35 secured to drill jig 36. The hollow body is also connected to the drill head 2 by half rings 3, 3a and screws 6. In operation drill 24 engages metal sheet 37, then further downward movement of head 2 causes spring 21 to be compressed which produces by reaction a predetermined pressure on drive member 11 and thus on drill 24. |
