PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently manufacturing an aliphatic tricarboxylic acid at a high yield by an electrodialysis process. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the aliphatic tricarboxylic acid is characterized in that a water solution (A) containing 1-80 mass % of a basic salt or a partial salt of the aliphatic tricarboxylic acid having a molecular weight of 180 or more is converted to a water solution (B) of the aliphatic tricarboxylic acid corresponding thereto by electrodialysis.
