PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scribing apparatus which can form a clear marking line even when a workpiece is thin. SOLUTION: A holder 20 is rotatably coupled to a body 10. A scribing tool 30 is mounted at one end of the holder 20. A leaf spring 16 is fixed to the body 10, a bearing plate 25 is also fixed to the holder 20, and a piezoelectric actuator 40 is interposed between the spring 16 and the plate 26. The one end of a leaf spring 50 having a small spring constant is fixed to the holder 20. An adjusting screw 60 is provided at the body 10. When the lower end 65 of the screw 60 is projected, the lower end 6 pushes the spring 50 to deflect the spring 50 to generate an elastic force at the spring 50. Thus, a rotary force is imparted to the holder 20 and hence a pressing load directed toward a workpiece is imparted to the tool 30. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
