PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric water boiler convenient and economical by lengthening the life of the seal packing of a lid. SOLUTION: This electric water boiler is constituted to position a lower end part 17e of a seal part 17d of the seal packing 17 in an outer peripheral direction from a sidewall 6 of a container 1 and on the inner peripheral side from the outermost peripheral end 3a of a flange 3 when the container 1 is closed with the lid 12. The seal packing 17 is thereby restrained from being exposed to steam and air (oxygen) of boiling and constant high temperature, so that the life of the seal packing is long to reduce time and labor for replacement while being safe, economical and resource-saving.
