PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding table device for a chair capable of compactly folding the a folding table with a simple structure and operation and improving the safety of an adjacently seated person or passenger and the appearance. SOLUTION: The folding table 51 is pivotally fixed to the upper edge turned forward of a bracket 43 through a longitudinal shaft rotatable between a substantially horizontal use position above the seat of a chair and an upward flip-up position, so that the folding table 51 is housed under the seat of the chair when the bracket 43 is turned down. Further, the bracket 43 has a cover 64 for covering the outside surface thereof, and an upward protruding part 66 for covering the outside surface of the connecting part of the bracket 43 to the folding table 51 is provided on the upper end of the cover 64.
