PURPOSE:To perform decomposing treatment using Gram-positive bacteria by treating polyvinyl alcohol using a plurality of microorganisms belonging to the genus Corynebacterium, the genus Rhodococcus, or the genus of Caseobacter. CONSTITUTION:Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) or waste water containing PVA is treated using at least one kind of microorganisms belonging to the genus Corynebacterium, the genus Rhodococcus, or the genus Caseobacter. For example, waste water containing PVA, such as warp paste washing waste water in fiber processing, is treated for 2 hours-6 days under such condition that pH is about 4-10; treating temperature is 5-40 deg.C. |
