METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING STEEL WIRE/ RUBBER COMPOSITE MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a steel wire/rubber composite material which can manufacture a high quality steel wire/rubber composite material without a cavity by improving the permeability of a rubber material in a process for coating twisted steel wires with the rubber material and an apparatus for the method. SOLUTION: The apparatus for manufacturing the steel wire/rubber composite material is composed of a twisted steel wire W conveyance process 3 for unwinding/conveying the twisted steel wires W and a coating apparatus 4 in a coating process for coating the twisted steel wires W with the rubber material G. An ultrasonic vibration apparatus 6 for making the twisted steel wires W co-vibrate by applying constant ultrasonic waves to the wires W while tension is applied to the wires W by applying press force to the wires W is installed just in front of the coating apparatus 4 for the rubber material G in the conveyance process 3. The ultrasonic vibration apparatus 6 is composed of an ultrasonic wave detecting machine 7 and an ultrasonic vibrator 8 arranged from the side of the coating apparatus 4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
