PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner in which an existing disposable paper filter and a reusable filter can be selectively mounted and used to reduce the development and equipment investment cost of a manufacturer and the cost burden of a consumer. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is provided with a cleaner body having a motor chamber in which a vacuum motor is mounted, and a dust collecting chamber which is divided from the motor chamber by a partition and is in fluid communication with the motor chamber via a passage formed in the partition, and is provided with an air inflow hole formed on one side and having access to the outside; and either the disposable paper filter or the reusable filter acting as a dust collecting means and selectively mounted in the dust collecting chamber of the cleaner body to separate and collect the dust and dirt from the air that is drawn in through the air inflow hole. The dust collecting chamber is provided with a filter support means for stably supporting either of the paper filter or the reusable filter when mounted in the dust collecting chamber.
