PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eyeglass lens machining device which can quickly obtain lacking information on a lens diameter at the time of measuring a lens contour, and carries out machining without imposing an excessive load on a mechanism of the device and the lens. SOLUTION: The eyeglass lens machining device includes a means for inputting oval contour data, and a means for measuring the lens contour based on the oval contour data, and measures the lens contour starting from a point at which the radial length of the oval contour is the largest with reference to the optical center, oval center, or chuck center of the lens, as an oval contour measurement starting location. Further, a grinding tool grinds the lens starting from the point at which the radial length of the oval contour is the largest with reference to the lens optical center, oval center, or chuck center, as an oval contour machining starting location.
