PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for packing a solid catalyst in which the catalyst is dropped from the upside opening of a tubular reactor, and the crosslinking, pulverization, and breakdown of the catalyst during packing are controlled. SOLUTION: In this method, the solid catalyst is dropped while gas is discharged from the tip of the lower part of a tube inserted from the upside opening of the reactor, and the catalyst is packed while the inserted tube is pulled up.
