PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably cut off cutting chips in pieces with reduced cutting resistance and without improperly lowering cutting edge strength. SOLUTION: Serrations 16 and 16 in which a plurality of grooves 14 and crests 15 are alternately arranged are formed in the vicinity of cutting edges 17 and 17 in an upper surface 12 across the edges 17 and 17. The four grooves 14 in the serrations 16 are constituted of a first deep groove 14A, a first shallow groove 14B, a second deep groove 14C, and a second shallow groove 14D. The first deep groove 14A and second deep groove 14C are arranged at positions dividing an circular arc applied for cutting of a workpiece in the cutting edge 17 into substantially equally among three.
