PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute pressing with high accuracy by making a stop position at the top dead center accurate by correcting and controlling a brake slipping amount according to a brake temperature. SOLUTION: The method for controlling the stop at the top dead center of the press machine and the device have the constitution and the method in which the constant and accurate stop position at the top dead center can be obtained by correcting and controlling the brake slipping amount (B) on the basis of the brake temperature of a temperature sensor (11) provided to the brake (10).
