PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting bite designed to effectively suppress the floating of a chip and to prolong a life of the chip. SOLUTION: The cutting bite 1 comprises a bite holder 2, a chip 3 arranged in a recess 21 and having a CBN sintered body 4 used as a cutting edge at the tip of a base material 30, and a presser metal fitting 5 having a front ground part 51 and a rear ground part 52. In fixing the presser metal fitting 5 to the bite holder 2 with a screw 6 and pressing the chip 3 to the bite holder 2, when a chip length (L0) from the front end 41 of the CBN sintered body 4 to the rear end 32 of the chip 3 through the center of gravity G of the chip is set 10, a length (L1) from the front end 41 of the CBN sintered body 4 to the front ground part 51 is not more than 4, and the front ground part 51 is grounded to the base material 30 of the chip 3.
