PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bumper for wheelchairs simply and accurately fixable on arbitrary wheelchairs and a wheelchair with the bumper. SOLUTION: The bumper for wheelchairs has a fixing means in which a foot plate of the wheelchair is grasped between upper and lower mounting plates and the bumper is fixed on the body of the wheelchair with a clamp screw. The position and the size of the foot plate are almost the same regardless of the types of the wheelchairs to allow the mounting of the bumper on various electric wheel chairs. The fixing or removing of the bumper can be done easily without requiring tools or the like by tightening or loosening the clamp screw on the mounting plates. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
