Polyamide fibres. Process comprises: (1) Polymerising monomer(s) in presence of water in a conventional reactor; (2) purifying the resulting intermediate product in the melt with simultaneous post-polymerisation in an evaporator while vapour of at least one hydroxy-cpd. is admitted through an aperture into the evaporator and diffulty vaporisable matter is expelled through an exit aperture; (3) continuously admixing at least one additive to the purified polyamide while the polyamide is passing through the reactor (4) compounding the polyamide contg. the additive(s) with the aid of a screw mixer and (5) spinning the resulting mixture into fibres. The additive may be an anti-oxidant.
