The displacement device for the lift cabin (2) comprises a vertical rail (9) and a driving surface (10) applied on the rail. The driving surface is carried by the driving strand of a wide belt which is applied on the plane surface of the rail. The driving surface comprises two active surfaces tightly gripping the rail and applied to the rail plane surfaces by a spring applying each belt carrier assembly.
