<p>1334681 Foamed silicate products SOUTHWEST RESEARCH INSTITUTE 21 Oct 1970 [21 Oct 1969] 25438/70 Heading C1A A rigid foam, resistant to being solubilized by water, is made by frothing a mixture of aqueous sodium silicate, potassium silicate or mixtures thereof, a surface tension depressant and a silicon dioxide polymer-forming agent selected from sodium, calcium or potassium fluorosilicate, calcium or potassium fluoroborate, calcium fluorotitanate, magnesium phosphate, sodium calcium borate, lithium calcium borate, zinc borate, aluminium borate, calcium borate, iron borate, calcium aluminate and calcium ortho and pyrophosphates. The foam may be made rigid by adding a gelling agent prior to the addition of the silicon dioxide polymer-forming agent.</p> |
