摘要 PURPOSE: A laser diode control device for an optical pickup is provided to freely control the position and angle of a laser diode by position and tilt control blocks, thereby simply improving the misarrangement of optical axes and the ununiformity of intensity distribution. CONSTITUTION: A laser diode control device for an optical pickup includes a base(10) moving in the radial direction of an optical disc, and a position control block(20) and a tilt control block(30) mounted to a surface of the base for controlling the position and the tilt of a laser diode(1) which generates light. The base is formed with beam transmission hole(12) at a part, and the part is surface-contacting the position control block. In the center of the position control block, a through-hole(24) communicated with the beam transmission hole is formed. A hemisphere(22) is mounted to the opposite side of a mounting surface of the position control block. The tilt control block is formed with a hemisphere securing groove(32) corresponding to the hemisphere. The hemisphere and the securing groove are slidably contacting each other, so that the tilt control block slidingly rotates with respect to the tilt control block. The tilt control block is formed with a coupling hole(34) in the center to be communicated with the through-hole of the position control block. The laser diode is coupled with the coupling hole, to rotate with the tilt control block for the tilt control. A front cap part of the laser diode is inserted into the through-hole of the position control block to move by a predetermined angle. The center of rotation of the tilt control block is positioned to a light generating point of the laser diode.
