The motor propulsion unit (12) has a control (20) for the clutch (16), a control (22) for the internal combustion engine (14). Both controls are operated by a central unit (11) to satisfy an internal set value (CRVR) for the (low) speed of the vehicle. The central unit operates in response to detection of information (IVC) indicating the wish of the driver to operate in low speed mode.
