摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the discharge voltage by increasing the contact area between an electrode and a light emitting tube by means that the opposed face of the light emitting tube of a substrate and the electrode formed on its face are deformed along the curved face of the outer wall of the light emitting tube by a heat treatment. SOLUTION: In a display device provided with a plurality of light emitting tubes composed of narrow tubes, a pair of substrates pinching a plurality of the light emitting tubes, and the electrode which is formed on the opposed face of the light emitting tubes of the pair of substrates, and in which discharge is generated in the inner part of the light emitting tube by the application of the voltage, the substrate in which the electrode is formed is made to have a rigidity at room temperature and to have a lower softening point than that of the light emitting tube, and the opposed face of the light emitting tube of the substrate, and the electrode formed on its face is made to be deformed along the curved face of the outer wall of the light emitting tube by the heat treatment.
