PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new azo compound and a tautomer thereof, having good hue and excellent light resistance. SOLUTION: The azo compound and the tautomer are represented by general formula (1) (wherein, R1is an alkyl group, an aryl group or an acyl group; R2is an alkyl group or an aryl group; R3to R7are each independently a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group, an alkylthio group, an arylthio group or an amino group).
