PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound useful as an active component of pharmaceuticals. SOLUTION: The phosphonic acid diester derivative is expressed by general formula (1) (A is C-R<SP>1</SP>or N; R<SP>1</SP>is a substituted phenyl or pyridyl; B is N when A is C-R<SP>1</SP>, and is C-COR<SP>2</SP>when A is N; R<SP>2</SP>is a lower alkoxy or a lower alkylamino; R<SP>3</SP>is a lower alkyl, cyano, a halogenophenyl, a lower alkoxycarbonyl, carboxy, carbamoyl, a heterocyclic carbonyl or the like when A is C-R<SP>1</SP>, and is phenylamino, a phenyl-lower alkylamino or benzoylamino when A is N; R<SP>4</SP>is a lower alkyl; and R<SP>1</SP>is not a halogeno or a lower alkylphenyl when R<SP>3</SP>is a lower alkyl or a halogenophenyl).
