PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a burner for high temperature reactor with a simple structure wherein the thermal-elongation difference between a high temperature reaction vessel and a waterwall is absorbed. SOLUTION: The high temperature reactor comprises the high temperature reaction vessel 20 and the water wall 21 arranged inside the reaction vessel. A burner 10 for the high temperature reactor which supplies fuel and oxidant 14 into the high temperature reactor is supported by the high temperature reaction vessel 20 and the waterwall 21. A part of the burner tube located between the high temperature reaction vessel 20 and the waterwall 21 is a stress absorbing tube part 10a where the tube diameter is smaller in the gravity direction than the tube diameter of other parts. Preferably, the diameter d of the stress absorbing tube part 10a in the gravity direction is 70-90% of the diameter D of the burner tube 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
