PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wooden form body which makes effective use of thinnings, and contributes to matching of a retaining wall of various protective work for protecting the nature with the natural landscape, and to provide a retaining wall constructing method. SOLUTION: The wooden form body is constructed in the following manner. First, the thinnings are cut at a predetermined length, and a rear surface and both side surfaces of each thinning are flattened to form a unit member. Then, a predetermined number of the unit members thus formed are arranged side by side such that their rear surfaces become flush, that their side surfaces are closely stuck to each other, and that their column direction is arranged in a longitudinal direction. Then, the unit members arranged side by side are connected together in one body by a connecting bolt arranged astride the unit members, to thereby obtain a wooden frame body 1 of predetermined standard. Next, the wooden form bodies 1 are vertically zigzag arranged and connected together conforming to the form of the retaining wall to be constructed, and the retaining wall is constructed by using the wooden frame bodies as well as separators 4 and form ties 5 according to an ordinary method, followed by pouring concrete.
