<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition for ink jet recording having improved fixability to a recording material such as paper, gloss paper and OHP sheet abrasion resistance and recorded image density without deteriorating water resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The ink composition for ink jet at least contains water, a water- soluble organic solvent and a pigment. The composition further contains fine particles of a resin having a glass transition temperature of ≤70°C and a dye. The resin particle is polyester resin particle and/or polyurethane resin particle.
