PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a selecting/drying/filling apparatus capable of enhancing efficiency of compression volume-reduction treatment of radioactive waste by safely selecting and drying the radioactive waste and filling the radioactive waste in a capsule in a continuous process. SOLUTION: The selection/drying/filling apparatus comprises a hopper 4 in which a mixture containing the radioactive waste mixed with a liquid is charged, a screen 5 capable of selecting the radioactive waste by separating a member having a large size, a feeder 6 for conveying the radioactive waste, a filling device 7 for filling the waste in the capsule C, a discharge port 15 for discharging the liquid contained in the mixture, a gas feed port 84 and a gas exhaust port 85 for permitting an inert heating gas for drying the waste to flow through and a connection means 39 forming a closed system of passages from the feeder 6 to the capsule C.
