Identifiers of transmission channels for area specific short messages and corresponding response data are stored in a table (T). When area specific short message is received at telecommunication terminal (MS), it is identified by a channel identifier and the response data is retrieved from the table, to route the reply sent by telecommunication terminal to the correct address. The short message is routed on the basis of response data via a short message service center to the party having sent area specific short message via cell broadcast center. An Independent claim is also included for reply sending system.
