PURPOSE: Provided are an acidic black dye of an asymmetric azo-based metal complex having a high dyeing concentration and excellent fastness, a preparation thereof, and an acidic black dye composition containing the acidic black dye. CONSTITUTION: The acidic black dye(formula 1) of the asymmetric azo-based metal complex is produced by a process comprising the steps of: reacting a diazonium naphthalene compound and a naphthol in the equivalent ratio of 1:0.8-1.3 to prepare a monoazo compound and then reacting the monoazo compound and a chromium donor in the equivalent ratio of 1:0.8-1.3 to prepare a chromium compound(formula 5); reacting an aminobenzene compound and a phenyl naphthalene compound in the equivalent ratio of 1.5-2.5:1 in the presence of nitrate to prepare a disazo compound(formula 8); reacting 100-120pts.wt. of the chromium compound(formula 5) and 60-70pts.wt. of the disazo compound(formula 8). And the acidic black dye composition contains the acidic black dye of the asymmetric azo-based metal complex as a main component. In the formula, R1 is identically or differently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, nitro, chlorine, sulfonamide, and sulfone and R2 is identically or differently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, nitro, chlorine, and sulfone.
