PURPOSE: Provided is a method for preparing a multi-color paint which emits low odors, does not generate the agglomeration of particles and has improved shelf stability. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises mixing an oily paint containing a dry resin prepared with methylstyrene/acrylate copolymers, a hydrocarbon solvent, a pigment selected from a main pigment and an extender pigment, fumed silica and other additives, and an aqueous paint. In the method, 100 parts by weight of an aqueous solution (A) containing 0.2-1.0 wt% of methyl cellulose, 0.2-1.0 wt% of sodium sulfonate, 0.2-1.0 wt% of an anti-freezing agent, 0.1-0.3 wt% of a preservative and 96.7-99.3 wt% of ion exchanged water and 150-250 parts by weight of an oily paint are added first. Then, particles are pulverized into a size of 0.5-3 mm at 20-50 deg.C, and 20-40 parts by weight of an aqueous solution (B) containing 0.1-0.7 wt% of xanthane gum, 0.1-0.5 wt% of a preservative and 98.8-99.8 wt% of ion exchanged water is added thereto.
