The invention comprises compounds of the formula where R is an alkoxyalkyl radical with 2 or 3 carbon atoms in the alkylene moiety and 1-4 carbon atoms in the alkoxy moiety. The compounds are prepared by reacting 2,5-norbornadiene with a suitable alkoxyalkyl ester of acrylic acid at between 150‹ and 200‹ C. in the presence of a nickel (O) catalyst and with a continual supply of starting materials adapted to the rate of the reaction.</p> |
