<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly conduct a vertical scanning of an active matrix type display device starting from a leading line. <P>SOLUTION: A vertical driving circuit 5 is provided with shift registers 5R in which a multi-stage connection structure is provided and its first stage is made correspond to two gate lines G, a start pulse 2VST inputted into a leading stage SR1 is transferred so that shift pulses R1 and R2 are successively outputted for every stage, an intermediate gate circuit section 5T which processes the shift pulse correspond to each stage and the shift pulse of a preceding stage and generates intermediate pulses A and B that are separated time wise for every stage and an output gate circuit section 5U which processes the pulses A and B, successively outputs drive pulses P1 to P4 to the corresponding two gate lines G and successively selects pixels. The shift registers 5R include a dummy additional stage SR0 which is arranged in front of the leading stage SR1, supply a shift pulse R0 being outputted from the stage SR0 to a first NAND1 of the intermediate gate circuit section and outputs a proper intermediate pulse A from the first stage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
