<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium on which power information of an erase pattern is recorded. <P>SOLUTION: On the optical recording medium, power information about the power level of the first pulse and the power level of the last pulse of the erase pattern for data erasure are recorded. When the first and last pulses of the erase pattern can be differently set depending on differing kinds of recording layers of disks, differing kinds of disks, or even differing kinds of layers of a multi-layered disk, and recorded in a reproducible only area of the optical recording medium, the time required for a recording apparatus to select optimal erase power about the inserted optical recording medium is considerably reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
