<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of the recording error and the reproduction error of information with respect to an optical disk by accurately detecting dirt at an optical pickup device. <P>SOLUTION: The optical disk 3 to be used for initial adjustment is set to a tray 7, and laser beams are emitted from an optical pickup device 4 to the optical disk 3 and reflected. This reflected light is stored in a memory 9 as a reference value at the step of initial adjustment. After initial adjustment, the received light quantity of the optical pickup device 4 which has received the reflected light from the optical disk 3a when an optical disk 3a desired to write is set to the tray 7, e.g. is compared with the reference value by a comparator 10. By judging the comparing result, the degree of dirt at the optical pickup device 4 can be detected, and occurrence of the recording error and the reproduction error of information with respect to the optical disk 3A is prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
