<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that prevents the deterioration of an image which results from unstable supply of toner. <P>SOLUTION: Toner consumption pattern for forcibly consuming toner are formed by a toner consumption pattern formation part 211. They can be output at the same time that a toner concentration adjustment pattern is formed or can be output successively. Actually, as shown in FIG. 4, the toner consumption patterns and the toner concentration adjustment pattern are formed at the same time or successively on the photoreceptor drum 101. In this case, selection can be made to determine whether or not the toner consumption patterns are always formed interlocked with the toner concentration adjustment pattern.
