<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of repairing optical fiber which can easily repair an optical fiber, and a repair cable piece that is used for the method. <P>SOLUTION: If a failure occurs at a place 15 of DMF (+) 13a, a pair of optical cables is cut off at the same time as long as 2/3 cable length from a position (C) just close to a repeater including a failure point 15 in one relay span up to a connection point (A) with DMF (+):DMF (-), and a miniblock shown in (c) is inserted into the cut section and is connected to the remaining optical cable parts. Such an easy, simple work can repair optical cable connection that satisfies the relation: DMF (+):DMF (-)= 2:1. This can eliminate the needs for performing complex combination connection of the conventional DMF (+) and DMF (-) on a wiring and repair boat and also can standardize the repairing method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
