PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing method forming a stable high quality image without any fogging even with variation due to lapse of time or environmental variation. SOLUTION: In the developing method using minus toner, toner carrier and toner are constituted so that the relationship of triboelectric series of toner carrier 1, toner main particles 3 and additive 2 is the toner carrier 1, the additive 2 and the toner main particles 3 in this order from the positive side.
