PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of simplifying a developer recovery mechanism, and to provide a developer recovery container suitable for the image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The recovery container 124 is provided with a recovery port for an intermediate transfer body 134 and a recovery port for a developing unit 136. Recovered developer generation parts arranged in the intermediate transfer body and the developing unit are connected to the recovery ports 134 and 136. At least two of the recovery ports 134 and 136 are formed in a line in the vertical direction. Besides, recovery spaces 148a to 148f connected with the recovery ports 134 and 136 are partitioned by partitioning walls 146, and the recovery capacity of the space is set in accordance with the height and shape of the partitioning wall 146.
