PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent method of production for an epoxy resin composition having an excellent moldability suitable for a shielding material for electromagnetic wave and/or an absorbing material for the electromagnetic wave. SOLUTION: The epoxy resin composition composed of materials comprising the epoxy resin, a hardener, a hardening accelerator, a wax, a planular metal magnetic material and an inorganic filler excluding the planular metal magnetic material, is obtained by a method containing a step of kneading materials at least containing the epoxy resin and the planular metal magnetic material excluding the hardener and the hardening accelerator and then grinding to a preliminary compound, and a step of kneading the preliminary compound and the remaining materials comprising the hardener and the hardening accelerator and then grinding to produce compound of the composition.
