PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antimalarial agent having excellent antimalarial activities, hardly having side effects, especially having the superior antimalarial activities against drug-resistant malaria parasite, having improved solubility not only in an organic solvent such as olive oil but also in water, and usable not only as an oral drug but also as an injection solution. SOLUTION: The antimalarial agent contains a compound represented by general formula (I) [wherein, Z is an unsubstituted or substituted alicyclic hydrocarbon group; R<SP>0</SP>is a water-soluble functional group; m is an integer of 0-6; and n is an integer of 0-10].
